The material available throughout the site comes from a variety of sources - from our in-house analysts, commentators and correspondents, from material collected at conferences, exhibitions and other events, and from a continuous programme of browsing hundreds of websites. The ultimate goal is to offer a totally independent one-stop shop of information relevant to professionals active in the variety of facets of Europe's packaged and electronic media industry.
www.dvd-and-beyond.com is a commercial site, financed both by advertising and subscription. The advertising-supported sections are free to every user while a subscription is required to access the site in full. Subscription-based sections are advertising-free.
www.dvd-and-beyond.com is published by Globalcom Publications, a branch of Globalcom Limited, an independent London-based company established by Dr Jean-Luc Renaud in 1991. The company carries out research and consultancy assignments in the new media, IT and telecom fields.
Globalcom Publications launched the highly-regarded Advanced Television Markets industry newsletter in 1991. It then joined the stable of the Financial Times's newsletter portofolio. It has now been transformed into a website www.advanced-television.com. The company also launched CD-info, Europe's only independent CD-i focused newsletter. It morphed into DVD-Intelligence in 1997 to cover the new format from its inception. In 2002, the newsletter was transformed into www.dvd-intelligence.com, Europe's premier online source of news, data and analysis for professionals involved in DVD, Blu-ray and new delivery technologies. It was renamed www.dvd-and-beyond.com in 2013.
Globalcom Publications also produces the companion annual executive-level magazine DVD and Beyond - now in its 20th year.
Globalcom Limited, publisher of the industry website www.dvd-and-beyond.com, does not collect any personal details of visitors to its site, above and beyond the email details provided by users who are signing up to receive regularly the associated DVD and Beyond News Updates.
Details of visits to the site are not kept or processed. No cookies are offered for use by the site. Please note that our advertisers may use cookies, over which we have no control.
Globalcom maintains a database use to send the website's regular News Updates. In addition to emails provided directly by users who sign up to receive these News Updates, the database contains email details collated from publicly available catalogues of relevant conferences, fairs and other events at which Globalcom participates or contributes.
No more than three times in a 12-month period, we permit selected third parties to rent the database to provide our website users with information on highly targeted goods and services that may be of interest to them.
All News Updates emails as well as third-party announcements contain an "unsubscribe" button that enables recipients to be taken out of the database at any time. We do not disclose personal details to third parties.
