Video title production developer ZOOtech announced an agreement to develop at least 26 new titles for the award-winning Know-It-All interactive DVD education series.
Working with Robinette Resources, a leading educational consulting firm, and its supplemental curriculum distribution partners, this agreement represents a significant move by ZOOtech into the K-12 education market through the use of its DVD-EXTRA STUDIO development tools.
With a forecast ICT spend of $6.0 billion by 2009, according to Datamonitor, all companies involved are buoyed by the potential of the market.
"DVD-EXTRA STUDIO is the ideal choice for allowing us to add more complexity to our interactive education products and also to shorten our development cycle. By using DVD-EXTRA STUDIO we can enhance these titles and still have them in time for the beginning of the 2008 school year. DVD-EXTRA STUDIO is the only tool that will allow us to realize this vision," said Michelle Robinette of Robinette Resources.
In separate developments, ZOOtech has signed a deal with SDI Media, the world's leading provider of subtitling and language dubbing services to the entertainment industry. This agreement allows SDI to use ZOOtech's Regionalization Tool to automate the localization of menus for DVDs, interactive games and corporate multimedia productions.
The Regionalization Tool automates the previously manual process of creating assets, such as DVD menus, in alternative languages and has been shown in independent customer benchmarks to reduce time by 75 to 90%.
