New figures reveal downturn of UK VHS releases
Figures from Muze, the leading provider of video release information to UK retailers, reveal that the amount of titles released in the UK on VHS was down in 2006 to just 128 titles, compared with 927 in 2005.
The downturn in new VHS titles contrasts sharply with rises for other video formats. In 2006, there were more DVDs released than ever before – boosted in part by the recent popularity of DVD games such as Deal or No Deal.
