eBridge technology adds marketing fizz to Sex DVD

Alliance Films, Canada's leading motion picture distributor, announces that they have utilized Sony DADC's eBridge technology to create a more dynamic marketing campaign for their latest DVD release Sex and The City: The Movie.

Sony DADC's eBridge technology makes the migration from disc to internet material seamless and works behind the scenes as a uniquely trackable all-access pass to bonus marketing material that can be ever-changing.

"DVD consumers are used to static bonus content, like extra footage or director interviews on their special edition discs. Though Sex and The City: The Movie has those too, this is something different. With the dynamic power of a web-based marketing campaign, we can feature revolving offers for special products and other fun and exciting material related to the film that is only available if you've purchased the DVD," said Noah Segal, Executive Vice President, Alliance Films.

The eBridge-enabled movie title, that went on sale last week, allows consumers to access a website filled with exclusive offers and marketing content by placing the DVD into a internet-ready PC. DVD consumers receive access to the following promotions:
- Sample chapters of the Sex and the City: The Movie hardcover book by Amy Sohn from HarperCollinsCanada for free download.
- Downloadable recipe cards featuring cocktails based on the Sex and the City characters from SKYY Vodka.
- A $100 Roots Gift Card with any SellOffVacations.com Holiday booking made with the company between 1 October 2008 and 11 November 2008

Alliance Films is also catering to the film fans by offering unique DVD packs through an e-commerce site accessible through the DVD. They are also offering opportunities to win advance screening passes to upcoming Alliance Films releases across the country. Future deals will include a high-end fashion retailer, a jewelry retailer and a major packaged goods company, all designed to cater to the needs of the hardcore fans of the genre and the movie.
