MeadWestvaco Corp – AGI Media's parent company – has been selected as a member of the 2008/09 Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) for the fifth year running.
The global packaging leader is included on the industry-leading Index on the basis of its success "integrating environmental sustainability and social values into core business objectives and economic performance," boasts the company.
MWV also ranked best-in-class in the Containers & Packaging industry group for the fourth straight year, "demonstrating outstanding leadership in criteria such as risk and crisis management, sustainable fiber and pulp, and corporate citizenship and philanthropy."

Launched in 1999, the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes are the first global indexes tracking the financial performance of the leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide. The DJSI World comprises the leading companies in terms of sustainability around the world. It captures the top 10 percent based on long-term economic, environmental and social criteria out of the biggest 2,500 companies worldwide.
