... and PIAS picks arvato
Bertelsmann Group's replication and outsourcing services provider arvato has signed an exclusive three-year partnership with European independent music group PIAS for supply chain services in the UK and Ireland.
Arvato told MusicWeek it will provide a full order-to-cash service, which represents more than 160 leading independent record labels across the UK. The deal with Arvato includes warehousing, order-management, pick, pack, ship, reverse logistics, invoicing and cash collection.
Arvato will ship CDs, DVDs and vinyl by artists such as Adele, Alt J, Arctic Monkeys and Ghost Poet. PIAS labels comprise some 7,000 titles that will be integrated into arvato's commercial and warehouse management systems at its state-of-the-art 16,500 sq m distribution facility in Milton Keynes. There, the company already services Sony Music, Universal Music UK and Warner Music.
