Jim Wuthrich, President, International, Home Video and Digital for Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, will deliver the Digital Keynote at this year’s PEVE Digital Entertainment 2010, the annual conference organised by analysts Screen Digest in London, 11-12 March.
Wuthrich will address the role of digital within the greater distribution landscape and the importance of convergence between packaged and digital media, and will pave the way for a whole morning devoted to an in-depth examination of the critical issues facing digital delivery today.
Wuthrich is responsible for working closely with the international territories to identify strategic opportunities for the Home Entertainment Group abroad while implementing the company's current growth priorities.
He has been a part of the digital effort since the studio first began integrating its digital and packaged goods businesses with the launch of Digital Copy, which is now being offered by nearly all the major studios.
Wuthrich joined Warner Home Video in 1998 as Director of Marketing and was promoted to Vice President, Marketing Theatrical New Release, Warner Home Video in 2003, managing the release of over 100 titles from film to DVD. Before joining WHV in 1998, he spent five years at Creative Multimedia, a company that published content to CD-ROM and the Internet.
A graduate of Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program, Wuthrich also holds a degree in business from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
John McMahon, Managing Director Europe, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment was the first confirmed keynote speaker. Other sessions at the conference, which is being held in the UK for the first time in its 18-year history, will examine the practicalities of bringing the new wave of 3D content to the living room, whether the movie industry needs a new business model and the vital issue of cost-effectiveness in the supply chain.
