Brickbox expands into Hungary with acquisition of Media Vision

Czech optical digital media service company Brickbox Digital Media has acquired leading Hungarian authoring service provider Media Vision Kft.

“The increasing number of European regional releases of DVD and Blu-ray titles, as well as the overall tendency towards globalization has motivated Media Vision in its desire to become part of an international organisation and in this way expand its range of services,” says Brickbox.

With offices in London, Warsaw and Bratislava, Prague-based Brickbox was keen to extend its operation into Hungary with the acquisition of Media Vision.

Media Vision has been operating in the Hungarian film market for eight years. During this period the company produced more than 1300 DVDs for its film distributor clients, along with many corporate CD and DVD projects.

There are no significant changes in Media Vision’s management and creative team. The managing director is Andrea Soltesz, Ildiko Elek is responsible for sales and marketing and Ferenc Wurm is the new project manager. “This acquisition will bring new opportunities and means we are now able to offer our clients new services such as Digital Cinema,” says Soltesz

The Brickbox team, the first licensed Blu-ray Disc partner for Central and Eastern Europe, has been working in the optical media industry for those markets since 1999, providing services from content management and processing to optical media production, distribution, repackaging and recycling, and has worked on over 2,500 DVD, HD DVD, and Blu-ray titles for its customers.
