Is China's CBHD format withering in view of lukewarm take-up?
China Blue High-definition Disc (CBHD) players offered by Shinco Electric and TCL, the only two vendors of such devices in the China market currently, have been found to be not compatible with each other, according to a China-based tech.qq.com report, cited by DigiTimes. It points to the fact that the solutions adopted by the two vendors are not similar.
According to reported indications by local retail channels, it would appear that TCL is withdrawing from the CBHD market. As for Shinco, sales performance for its CBHD players has been short of original expectations. It is seen as a negative signal for the business outlook of CBHD in the Chinese market.
